Meno 100 chili, waste specialist Roberto Cavallo’s book, switch from recycled paper to big screen thanks a popular production, to explain how we can reduce everyday waste.
With Emanuele Caruso direction and Marco Domenicale script, Erica and Aica waste specialist will play himself in the docu-film along with a brilliant cast of characters of the italian cultural industry as Luca Mercalli, (Che tempo che fa meteorologist), Cristina Gabetti (Striscia la notizia reporter), Mario Tozzi (a famous geologist and journalist) and Oliviero Corbetta (known actor and voice actor).
The transposition from textual to audiovisual language will be faithful to the book intention but it will be more rich of stories, characters and considerations. The story will be structured in two part: the first is a fiction and the second is a documentary, and both are introduced by a prologue during which four charachters will read excerpts from Leonia by Italo Calvino.
In the first part of Meno 100 chili, a father and his son will talk about how waste is doubled in only 2 generation and about throwaway-world paradigm also infused personal relationships with individualism that may damage ourselves.
In the second part, however, will be presented the “waste specialist character” (play by Roberto Cavallo) and a "doubtful senator” accusing him “to make everything too easy", whose will travel around Italy discovering the best practices on waste management. The two characters enact a conflict between those who is overly enthusiastic of the discoveries initiatives and who is sceptical and believes that they are just local experiences.
The characterize aspect of the docu-film is the choice of a popular production, born to involve every citizen in a participated initiative to raise awareness about waste reduction’s best practices communication. Every little action helps to achieve reducing waste goals and each share purchased will help to fund one third of the total investment.
On www.produzionidalbasso.com site are on sale 800 shares for 25 euro and in 100 days more than 200 were already purchased.
A sort of parallelism between economic investment and personal involved to make the viewer not only as builder of cinematographic production but also the protagonist of the social change towards sustainability.
