A day to look for the right way for garbage in Veneto

by Annalisa Audino

The Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland, strange character also in the new film of Tim Burton, said that “to know what is the way, you have to know where you want to go: everyone and every place has a right way”. So does the waste…

The new campaign “Waste: everything has its way”, promoted by the Regional Agency for Prevention and Environmental Protection of Veneto (ARPAV) and managed by E.R.I.C.A. (member of AICA) and IDECOM, starts from the different way of recycle of waste to inform and help people to take awareness about the subject and trust in the sistem of recycle.

The campaign counts on an important Day, on Sunday 28th February at 10,30 in Bra Square in Verona: special guest is the geologist and environmental journalist Mario Tozzi, famous vip (Gaia – Il pianeta che vive, La Gaia Scienza), introduced by the President of AICA, Roberto Cavallo.
There will be also a musical show, thanks to the Recycled Musical Circle, musical group that use instruments made with recycled materials, and a theatre dedicated to children and called “Recycle is magic”. There will be also Information Points of Arpav, Conai, Eco-counter of Verona, Tetra Pak Italia, and a lot of people specialized in the theme. They will give informations, gadgets, questionnairies and an eco-snack. Very important is the brochure “Where do the waste get? Everything has its way”: simple to read, but interesting in themes, this brochure tells in a scientific way what happens to the waste.

Coming months the campaign will give the possibility to visit, with Conai, a lot of recycling systems in Veneto (Italy) and to attend a lot of events in other places in the Region: “Open Days” will offer the opportunity to visit platforms, selection centers and packaging waste management facilities in collaboration with the most important Italian Consortiums, a guarantee of the real recycle of collected materials.
