In Italy Green Week in advance

During the Green Week, an annual event on the European environment policy which will take place 24 to 27 May 2011 in Brussels, the European Commission Representation in Italy organizes for the first time in Rome a workshop where representatives of European and national institutions, and world of research will dialogue with regional and local authorities on efficient management of resources, to promote sustainable development and increase investment in eco-innovation.

The underlying theme of Green Week 2011 is, in fact, the efficient use of resources, lighthouse strategy as part of initiative Europe 2020, announced by the Commission in January this year.

The working day in Rome will be divided into two panel discussions and an exhibition space, the "European Space", dedicated to best practices and innovative and relevant projects.

In the first morning panel "Efficient use of resources for a sustainable and competitive economic system" high-level experts from institutions, central and local administrations, civil society and academia are invited to discuss the various aspects of the issue and reflect on the strategies implemented in our country to put the environment and efficient use of resources at the center of economic recovery.

In the second afternoon panel discussion "New models of production and consumption, eco-innovation, strategies for sustainable management of resources and territory" there will be the possibility to exchange experiences and presentations of good practices and innovative projects where is scheduled the participation of some AICA members as Erica, Capannori municipality and CONAI.

ERICA, unique in its field, was chosen by the experts of the Italian representative of the European Commission among the virtuous companies in the environmental field to join the Green Week.

In this period, ERICA, through its projects, has saved millions tons of emissions, contributing with their own communication campaigns to raise awareness that only a more efficient use of available resources will ensure a safer future to humankind».
