To Retrieve a Holiday

by Lorenzo Caiazzo

Would you like to have some days off but you have loose change in your pocket? Do you like being  close to nature? The summer camps organized by APARE (Association pour la Participation et l'Action Régionale), together with the CME (Centre Méditerranéen de l'Environnement) can solve your problem! For few hundred euros and few hours of work you can go on vacation surrounding a magnificent landscape and do something useful for the environment!

For the summer 2012 program in the fields, active from June to September, are located in France, in the beautiful island of Porquerolles and in the Provence; the other summer camp is in Morocco, in the picturesque region of Tetouan. A member of APARE,  Lénaïck Lagrè, says: <<Our summer camps have different themes: natural hazards, preservation of heritage, ecotourism, etc.. each volunteer chooses the summer camps based on one of these themes. Volunteers can participate without having any specific skills necessary to access>>
These summer camps are not only laboratories which prepare you for your professional life, but they are also great opportunities to discover different cultures and Countries.

These summer camps are not only for working, indeed! All the works take place for only four hours in the morning. For everything else, APARE organized various entertainments for the participants, such as: hiking, trekking and guided visits to sites of particular historical, cultural and natural heritage. After this experience, APARE releases a certificate of participation to each volunteer, That will be very useful to enrich their CVs.

The prices are very accessible because this offer is mainly addressed to students and, in according to location, they guarantee meals, accommodation and local transport. Considering the beautiful location where the summer camps are set up, this offer is so advantageous that it can even challenge any other holiday in period of crisis.

At the end of this amazing experience you will have the opportunity to take with you something more than a magnet to stick onto your refrigerator. You’ll always fell the satisfaction of having made a tiny corner of the Earth better than it was the summer before.
