Shows, bicycles, exhibitions, games, literature, songs, resuming and comparison debates, workshops, meetings for schools and distinguished guests. This is the rich program of Green Social Festival 2010 to be held in Bologna for eight days from February 12th, the Italian energy savings day of the “M'illumino di meno” (I will use less light).
The event is in its first edition but, thanks to its preview talk show, is already making talked about itself. The presentation, took place last December 11th, titled "Missione Copenhagen", just because it kept during the days of the summit on the climate, was a way to take stock of the situation.
The festival will feature for its informative style and it will use a simple language because it want to turn to non-employees to works, both because very tip on the involvement of the young people.
Under the patronage of the Ministry of the Environment, at the festival are expected to prestigious guests such as Bob Kennedy III, scion of the famous American dynasty, very active in the environmental field.
4 the macro-topics discussed: energy and environment, living and sustainability, global vision and legal and communications. In establishing a very strong relationship between communication and law, the organizers argue that, in this particular Italian historical period, the communication is responsible for the loss of values, especially the repeated violation of the law that occurs without any shame.
We turn to Enzo Argante, scientific director of the Social Green Festival, to ask whether such responsibility is also true for the environmental community.
«When we refer to the responsibilities of communication we are talking about the system as a whole. Certain that the environmental communication, I would say in general that social, rather than solidarity is excluded from critic».
You turn in particular to the younger generations. Is it more educational describe a corrupt world, or should provide the tools and the skills to enable children to form them a critical mind?
«We can not offer educational criteria without the necessary and consequential critiques. Young people must understand the criticality to imagine and propose changes. It is a question of measure: on the one hand the indifference on the other the defeatism. The virtue - educational - is in the middle».
