Aica Prize 2011 more and more international

Also this year the collaboration between AICA association and the International Festival of Cinemambiente continues. June 5th, during the Festival closing evening, the annual AICA Prize, arrived at its VIII edition, will be in fact given.
AICA awards those environmental campaigns aimed at focusing the citizens' attention on the environmental issues, creating a commomn awareness and an environmental culture.
The prize is divieded into three categories: “Communicting with citizens improves environment”, the Special Prize “Communicating the Kyoto Protocol” and the Career Prize “Beppe Comin”. The first category focuses every year on a different topic that this year is “Communicating the forests”.
Here the names of the winners of the three categories that will be awarded on Sunday June 5th, at 9.00 p.m. at Massimo Cinema in Turin ( North Italy):
INTERNATIONAL FOREST FILM FESTIVAL a festival organized by United Nations Forest Forum in occasion of the International Year of Forests 2011;
MINISTÈRE DE L’ÉCOLOGIE ET DU DÉVELOPPEMENT DURABLE for the campaign “Il n’ya pas de petits gestes quand on est 60 millions à les faire” (“There are no small acts if we are 60 milions to do them”) aimed at promoting among the citizenship the environmental policy of the French government;
PIERO ANGELA, science avisers and well known Italian television character.
«This year the Prize has focused more than the previous editions on internationalism - explains Roberto Cavallo, president of AICA - We are pleased, indeed, to welcome the delegates of the UN and Jacques Faye, as representative for the French Ministry of Ecology. We are also delighted to hand over the Career Award to one of the main Italian scientific advisers who in recent decades has approached the general public to environmental issues through programs that have made television history in Italy».
Gaetano Capizzi, Director of Cinemambiente, adds: «The awarding of the International Forest Film Festival inside the Festival of Cinemambiente will be an important opportunity to reflect on the disclosure of environmental issues through art film».
